An absolute pleasure to work with

Neville Cranston
Invergordon

I would like to sincerely thank Diverse Builders.

Their overall professionalism and assistance during the entire build of my new home on my horse stud property has been great. Beginning with my initial meetings with sales who went out of their way to negotiate on my varied requirements and upgrades on their design.

Another feature that I was impressed with, (being a single male only occupant), was the expert advice from the interior design consultant, who assisted me in choosing every last detail, including interior/exterior colour selections, kitchen, bathrooms, wall and floor tiles and carpet etc.

My Construction Supervisor, during the entire build from start to finish was an absolute pleasure to work with, providing regular meetings and phone call updates.

Not only with the teams all up efforts, but the end product, I would have no hesitation in recommending Diverse Builders.

'Diverse Builders under took the construction of a 12 bed high care residential care wing at Cooinda Benalla. The Cooinda staff found working with the Diverse staff and contractors was respectful, open, transparent and fair. By having fortnightly meetings we were able to discuss and sort through any issues that arose promptly to ensure the project kept moving and was completed on time.'

Refreshingly Different

To The Diverse Builders Team,

Through the building process your attention to finding out my wishes and needs was a refreshing difference to other building companies. Thank you for all of your help, I look forward to when we can build the next one together. Best Wishes. James.

Triple Delight

Jo Willmott
Numurkah

She may also have started something of a trend in new houses – the introduction of locks on bedroom doors. “I have teenage girl triplets so I wanted locks on their doors so I don’t have to get involved with the battles over who took what from whose room….it wasn’t to lock them in,” Jo said. “I chose Diverse Builders for easy access as they are local and I like that they give back to the community. They were good to work with and kept me up to date with progress through the construction.” Jo’s home has an open-plan living area which contains the kitchen, meals and lounge room. It is brick veneer with a skillion roof. The lounge has feature cut outs in the dividing wall to give an open feel and block noise. “Ours is a very simple floor plan and Diverse Builders helped me with the design.” Jo says the house has great insulation and she has already noticed the benefits of this and its north-facing orientation in the four months since she moved in. “You just can’t compare old houses with new houses anymore.” And the triplets certainly won’t be making any comparisons – they even have their own bathroom in this house!

Amazing Attention To Detail

Marg Keane
Numurkah

A three-sided glass atrium measuring 3m x 3.5m is the main feature of the home we are building for Marg and Golly Keane in Numurkah.“I came up with the design. Diverse Builders’ attention to detail and the process we went through before anything started was amazing,” Mrs Keane said. “I hadn’t built a house before so I was surprised by how thorough it was,” she said. “My husband had worked with Neil Rose (Managing Director of Diverse Builders) and said that because he knew what Neil was like working on other buildings he knew he would do a good job for us. I also spoke to some friends who had used them to build their homes and had nothing but good reports.” The atrium is at the centre of the house with the family room, kitchen and rumpus room all adjoining it. The ensuite window also looks into the atrium. The Keane’s house has a slow combustion stove which fires the hydronic floor heating and is made of bluestone rockface masonry blocks. Entertaining will be fun in this house with a servery to the spacious outdoor living area and a walk-in pantry.

Seamless, In Time For Christmas

Luke Robinson
Nathalia

Having a three bedroom house built in 11 weeks by a ‘team that just clicked’ has made Luke Robinson delighted he chose a local builder.“I wanted to support a local builder and from the very first point of contact, Diverse Builders provided very good service and I moved in before Christmas,” Luke said.“It was seamless. From the time the site was cleared and the slab poured, it was all finished quicker than I expected,” he said.  As a young tradesman himself, Luke was surprised by how smoothly the project ran and reasonably priced it was. “I had been looking at established houses but this range for first home owners is so affordable it was actually a better deal than I could find to buy an existing property. And while the options are reduced, there were still lots of choices of finishes I could make.”Mr Robinson’s home in Nathalia is a three bedroom brick home from the Hot Priced Homes range.

We were living in a unit and expecting our second child, so we wanted to buy an existing house to move into. But given our budget and what was available in the area, nothing really suited us. When we talked to Neil from Diverse Builders we realised we could have a new brick veneer home and it could all be ready in 6 months. We opted for a Hot Priced Home and the amount of room is amazing. We have two lounge rooms which is great with young children. It was great to have an all-inclusive price so we knew we could move in without having to pay anything more. The package included everything from driveways, paths, floor coverings and a fitted-out kitchen. Diverse Builders do a great job. They were quick and are really friendly.

We have a weatherboard, heritage style home that is built on stumps. It has polished hardwood floors, an outdoor living area and decking, and a decorative plaster arch and it’s been built to take advantage of the view over our dairy farm. It only took Diverse Builders six months to build and we were really happy with the whole process. The people were great. They really listened to what we wanted and were really obliging. When there were minor issues, Diverse Builders dealt with them. At first we thought we might owner-build. We’re really glad we opted instead to have Diverse Builders construct our new home.

We were on a pretty tight timeline when we were looking to finalise a plan for our new house, so we went to one of the bigger companies to start. It didn’t occur to us to try Diverse Builders initially as they didn’t have an existing plan that suited our block shape on their web site and we presumed they’d be more expensive, being a smaller local business. Boy, were we wrong! We told Diverse Builders what we were after in the morning and by 4pm that afternoon we met with Neil and he showed us a plan for a home that had everything we wanted. Diverse tailored their plans to suit exactly what we needed, and it was perfect! We wanted a big walk-in wardrobe and large ensuite. We were also keen on having a butler’s pantry and a pool room with a bar. We couldn’t believe it when Diverse came up with a plan that included all of that, and yet it cost less than the standard plan we got from the bigger company. The Diverse plan was really clever in making much better use of space. At the time of writing this, we are just waiting for our block to settle. Then, within 4-5 months, we’re going to be able to move into our new home. As first home owners, we’re incredibly excited! We can’t wait.

As consulting engineers in the Goulburn Valley, we have worked with Neil Rose and his team at Diverse Builders for about 20 years. We have noticed that Diverse put a lot of planning into ensuring that their homes are of the highest structural standard. They are committed to doing these things properly and continually seek the latest and best way to build. They are great problem solvers. If you’ve got a building idea that’s “out there”, they’re creative thinkers, so it’s worth talking to them.

Diverse Builders wanted to get an independent snapshot of their clients’ satisfaction, to determine whether there was scope to improve the way they worked. They commissioned me to do a survey for them, which covered each stage of the building process, from the decision to build, to construction, completion, handover and any follow up work. I asked respondents to rate each stage on a five point scale, which ranged from ‘very satisfied’ to ‘very dissatisfied’. The results highlighted that Diverse Builders had developed very good relationships with their clients and had gone out of their way to provide excellent customer service. Of the 13 people who completed the survey 11 were ‘very satisfied’, 1 was ‘satisfied’ and 1 was ‘neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. The research, conducted in June 2008, asked whether they would recommend Diverse Builders, and all respondents said that they would. One respondent wrote: “I was happy with the service provided, along with the quality of workmanship and the pleasant manner of staff. I think one of the reasons they did so well in the survey was that they don’t compromise on quality. They also go to a lot of trouble to walk clients carefully through the whole process, so that they’re kept informed and know exactly what to expect.
