Meet Our Team
Matt Kelly
Co-Director
Matt grew up in the close-knit community of Bright, where he learned the value of connection and collaboration. He started his building journey at 16 as a carpenter apprentice, working on custom, high-end projects that sparked his passion for quality craftsmanship.
After several years honing his skills, Matt moved to Wangaratta, drawn by new building opportunities and a love of local sport. As Co-Director at Diverse Builders, he focuses on elevating industry standards and ensuring every home is meticulously planned and expertly constructed. Outside of work, Matt enjoys footy, cricket, golf, dirt biking, snowboarding, and wakeboarding always bringing the same energy and dedication to his projects as he does to life.
Shane Gaston
Co-Director
With over 21 years’ experience in the building industry, I began my career at 16 by completing a building apprenticeship after leaving school at the end of Year 10. After finishing my trade with a local builder, I spent several years subcontracting with high-end, award-winning builders, where I developed a strong eye for detail and a passion for delivering quality finishes.
Matt and I partnered up in business, which has led us to become Directors of Diverse Builders. Over my career, I’ve worked through every role within the business, giving me hands-on experience across all stages of construction. My background includes a wide range of projects from renovations and extensions to architectural builds and new homes, and I take real pride in delivering quality results that clients can enjoy for years to come.
Outside of work, I’m a big believer in staying active and making the most of the outdoors. I played football for over 20 years with the Wangaratta Rovers in the Ovens & Murray Football Netball League, lucky enough to have the opportunity to captain the club and win a Best and Fairest award. My proudest achievement was winning the 2024 senior premiership which was also my final game, and ending the club's 30-year senior premiership drought. I also enjoy hard enduro trail bike riding, camping, hiking, water skiing, tennis, and spending time with my wife, our dog, and our growing family.
